Referring Physicians and Providers:
We strive to serve your patient's needs with the greatest efficiency and care. While endocrine emergenices are rare, we are ALWAYS AVAILABLE for prompt endocrine consultation and welcome your phone calls on these patients. Our staff will promptly expedite contact to the physician on call if you feel the matter is URGENT.

We have compiled a quick guide to assist you in determining whether your patient requires urgent vs. routine appointment or evaluation

Urgent Diagnoses / Problems

  • Newly diagnosed diabetes
  • Hyperthyroidism / Graves Disease
  • Diabetes insipidus
  • Thyroid cancer
  • Pituitary tumor
  • Adrenal insufficiency or mass
  • Pheochromacytoma
  • Abnormal newborn thyroid or CAH screen
  • Prepubertal vaginal bleeding in a girl or precocious puberty in a boy
  • Ambiguous genitalia

Non-Urgent Diagnoses

  • short stature, poor growth
  • Failure to thrive (also refer to dietitian)
  • Delayed or precocious pubery¬†
  • Premature adrenarche
  • Hypothyroidism / Hashimoto's Thyroiditis
  • Calcium dysregulation (hyper/hypo or abnormal PTH or diminished bone mineral density)
  • Undescended testes
  • Cushing syndrome
  • Diabetes type 1 or 2 previously diagnosed - stable
  • PCOS or irregular menstrual cycles (also refer to dietitian)
  • Tall stature

PLEASE INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WITH YOUR REFERRAL so that we can schedule an appointment for your patient:

  • Most recent office note or hospital discharge summary
  • Copy of all labs and radiology reports
  • Growth chart
  • Instruct patient to bring bone age disk or film (not a report) to their appointment for all growth or puberty diagnoses
