Inaugural Laureate to be Announced October 28

First-ever Prize Winner to be Presented Medallion at Connect + Cure Gala

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, USA -- David Boren, president of the University of Oklahoma, and Harold Hamm, CEO of Continental Resources, Inc., will present the first-ever Harold Hamm International Prize for Biomedical Research in Diabetes at the Connect + Cure gala event on October 28, 2013. The Prize recognizes innovative research focused on progress toward a cure for diabetes. The recipient is awarded a medallion and a $250,000 cash prize.

Ben Vereen, three-time Tony award winner and Emmy nominee, will emcee the Connect + Cure gala event, and Alison Krauss and Union Station will provide entertainment for the evening. The 2012 event featured Dr. Mehmet Oz.
